Ms. Vidushi Marda
Vidushi Marda is an Indian lawyer and researcher working on the societal implications of AI. She is a Senior Programme Officer at ARTICLE 19 where she leads global engagement and research on the human rights implications of machine learning. She is an affiliate researcher at Carnegie India, where her work analyses law enforcement use of emerging technologies in India. In the past, she has contributed to discussions in the Human Rights Council, General Assembly, at technical standardisation bodies like the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and at multistakeholder bodies like the Partnership on AI. She is also a member of the Expert Group on Governance of Data and AI at United Nations Global Pulse. Her work has been cited by the Supreme Court of India in a seminal ruling on the Right to Privacy, and the UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Expression.
