Dr. Shrin Madon
Associate Professor of Information Systems, London School of Economics

Shirin Madon is Associate Professor working jointly in the Departments of International Development, and Management at the London School of Economics (LSE). She currently teaches the following postgraduate courses: (i) Management information systems and digital innovation, (ii) ICT and Socioeconomic Development, and (iii) Emergencies Management: Humanitarian Intervention and Digital Innovation. She is currently involved in the following areas of research:

• Evaluating the effectiveness of village health governance in rural Karnataka. This is ongoing research over the past 6 years with two fieldworkers working at village level using a participatory action research approach and currently investigating how community mobilisation impacts health communication during COVID-19.
• Studying the extent to which Aadhaar is improving delivery of social welfare programmes in India focusing on the practices and local information provided by local government agencies that support the platform in fertiliser subsidy disbursement in Andhra Pradesh.
• Investigating the extent to which UNHCR’s current strategy to open its digital identity platform for improving refugee management creates value to third party stakeholders and to refugees.
